About Robin Odorici
Education&Training
Robin Odorici graduated from Coros Drama Academy, founded by the Arteficio Cultural Association, in 2005. After earning their acting diploma, they worked as an actor, director, and playwright on several productions in Bologna, Italy.
After moving to Cork, they undertook four years of retraining at Cork College of Commerce under the guidance of Miriam Daly. This culminated in a Fellowship of Speech and Drama from the Victoria College of Music and Drama, London, in 2017.
Acting Credits
Their Italian acting credits (under the name Laura Odorici) include "The Country Wife" by William Wycherley, "The Barber of Seville" by Beaumarchais, and "The Three Musketeers", adapted from Alexander Dumas. They have also appeared in numerous children's plays, performed scenes from Shakespeare and Dante, and played Constanze in "Amadeus" (2009/2010).
In July 2026, they appeared in "Shakespeare in the Gardens" with the Cork Shakespearean Company (The Loft), playing the Nurse in Linda O'Flaherty's adaptation of an excerpt from Romeo and Juliet. They will next play the Duchess of Venice in the company's production of Othello in November 2026. Both roles are credited as Robin Odorici.
Directing and Teaching
In 2015, they directed Scoil Mhuire Junior School's 60th anniversary production, "Practically Perfect Mary". A decade later, to mark the school's 70th anniversary, they wrote and directed the whole-school production "The Marvellous Land of Oz", inspired by the works of L. F. Baum and staged at the Everyman Theatre.
Since 2022 they have coached children and teens for their LAMDA Acting, Musical Theatre, and Speaking Verse&Prose exams.
They are currently facilitating the workshop "Creative writing for the stage" for Gay Project, running from September to December 2026.
Plays
Their theatrical adaptations for young performers include:
- This Wooden O: Enchanting Scenes from Shakespeare;
- Love and Other Riddles: Scenes from Regency and Victorian Classics with a humorous twist.
They also co-authored No God by My Side – Agamemnon's Dawn with their mentor, Dario Turrini.
Robin is currently developing their first original play, What We May Be, which imagines some of Shakespeare's most iconic women trapped in limbo and brought together for group therapy as they seek to rewrite their own endings.
